    Exclamation SMART MONEY is a headache


    I availed smartmoney because of it offers ease in doing transactions especially when online. I was expecting it to be a lot better than before since it has already been arround for years giving smart enough time to improve this service.

    Unfortunately, my expectations we're all left down because of smart's poor system of topping-up these cards. Smart has two center's in SM, but whenever I go to the place, to load my card, the guards would always say that smartmoney loading is offline. What is worst is that loading is only until 5:30pm.

    Yes you can load the card thru BDO but it would take 2-5 days before it gets into the balance of your card.

    Also, smart is not that constant with their show card procedure. There are times that smart would accept loading cards even if the actuall card is not present - for as long as you have the sim where the card is enrolled. There are also times that they would say that they wont load smartmoney unless the card is present. This is very confusing especially whenever they refer you to their other center, saying that they accept loading thru show card, but when you reach the place, the guards in that place would say that they don't.

    i hear you. i used to be a user of smart money before when it had those mtv promotions. i quit after 2 months since i had a hard time using it. Most establishments wouldnt honor the card and also if i withdrew money from atms, it charged me 10 pesos each. The only convenience I had was that i could keep track of my money then and also i can have my transactions through my smart money account.

    Since most of the banks now have e-services, I rely on them now. BPI, BDO (which for me is the worst), and Unionbank.

    same here. I used to be a smart money user, I always put money there. Kaso ginakuhaan na ug 200/year. tapos every withdraw naa na bayad. not like b4 nga libre lng xa. Anyways... Im not using it now. Even atm card. wala nko ana...

    mao ni ang nakabati sa mga online or ATM or unsa klase nga mga card.. apil na ang smart money.. instead nga deposit na og money... kuhaan na nuon ta.. kawatan kaayo og dako.. tsk tsk...

    smart IS a headache... kawatan load... was a smart user for only a few weeks and switched...and happy..

    I'm currently a Smart Money user for 2 years and had no problems with it, but right now it's starting to become problematic after my card expired. Supposedly, they would send me a new card, as stated in their own text notification to me. It was supposed to be sent last October, but because my card got hacked they called me and told me that I would get a new card. So I waited again for the card. Since it was 10 business days, I was supposed to get it last week.

    However, I still haven't received it. I tried consulting their help center about it, but they told me to just call their hotline. And when I called their hotline to check the status of the delivery of my card, they said that THERE IS NO RECORD OF THE DELIVERY AT ALL.

    So I'm really upset right now. They were the ones who assured me of my card being delivered. Sila na gani ang nagsige ug text ug tawag nako about sa akong bag-ong card na ipadala nila. Kato diay, wala man diay sila'y record sa pag-deliver sa akong card.

    Ug ilang solution at this point, mukuha na lang ko ug bag-ong card sa ilang center. Kung mao ra diay ni ang mahitabo, gi-ingnan na lang unta ko nila daan na ako na mismo ang mag-effort na mukuha ug bag-ong card. I've been waiting for more than a month for the replacement, and all they had to tell me at this point was to get it by myself. And then maghuwat na sad ko ug two weeks. So mga December na sad ni. Or to be more realistic, January makuha if problems will come out again.

    They said the new card would be free, but I seriously doubt it. Even if they say it's free, I'll prepare some money to pay because something in me tells me that I'll be paying for it anyway.

    So as you can see, I'm now having second thoughts about renewing my Smart Money account after this experience.
