I was not used to PHP frameworks before, but when I had the opportunity to create a site using the CodeIgniter Framework, all I can say is maayo and very powerful jud ni nga framework. One thing I also like about this framework is that lightweight siya. Gamay ra mga files and easy to learn. It's MVC as well, so well-organized kaayo ang mga php files.
