Good question. I prefer to assemble my own, but theoretically, and without any prior knowledge that all computer parts basically come from a few suppliers, and that neither IBM nor HP nor Dell or even Apple "make" (vs. "assemble") computers, I'd go with the brand name with good customer support. Pero, knowing that all of these companies outsource their technical support to Rachel in Cebu, I'd say close your eyes and flip a coin.
Bitaw, either way, you'll get a well-assembled computer. And if it doesn't work, exchange it for one that does.

I guess you heard wrong. The personal computer division of IBM belongs to Lenovo. They still keep the name and the trademarks though. IBM gets shares in Lenovo, but their stake in the whole company is still minor. The new CEO of Lenovo has also come from IBM and they have moved their corporate offices from China to New York ... but that has nothing to do with the deal.Originally Posted by AzP3cBLuE
