Default Join the 2006 Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride March!!!

    Dear friends,

    Greetings of Pride and Solidarity!

Task Force Pride (TFP), the official Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender network that organizes the annual Pride March since 1999 enjoins you to take part in celebrating Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) pride.

The theme for this year's pride celebration is "Ipasa ang Anti-discrimination bill…Now na!!," which aims to push for the enactment of a legislative measure that seeks to penalize discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity.

Today, we continue to oppose homophobia and discrimination and push for the recognition of our human rights within our community and in the broader Philippine society. However, the struggle for the universal enjoyment and exercise of human rights and fundamental freedoms cannot be done by the LGBT community alone. Our efforts can only achieve results with your support and participation.

In this light, we would like to invite you and your group to join this year's Pride March.

The Pride March will be held in December again to move it closer to celebrations that affirm the elimination of stigma and abused against vulnerable communities, such as the World AIDS Day (Dec. 1), National Lesbian Day (Dec. and International Human Rights Day (Dec. 10). The Pride March itself will be on December 9, 2006, and assembly time will be at 3:00 p.m. at the Remedios Circle, Malate, Manila. The march will wind up at the Rajah Sulayman Park fronting the Baywalk where a program will follow shortly.

Your participation would significantly contribute in our collective goal of mainstreaming the LGBT community's advocacy against discrimination and homophobia.

Thank you for the consideration and support!

    Sincerely,

    Ed Cruz

    on behalf of:

    Bubbles Callueng
    TFP Co-Coordinator

    Jonas Bagas
    TFP Co-Coordinator

and the rest of the LGBT Community.

Di man ko ingon ka mo kontra ko ani nila. Pero bisan unsaon niining mga tawhana nga mag parade, dili gyud mawala ang stigma ana.

Ako pa ani nila no, instead of trying to attract attention, may pa manginabuhi na lang ni sila nga mahilumon. Kana bang simple life nga mo assimilate ra. Tutal mosabot naman ang mga tawo karun aning grupoha. Pero basin they want more. Human ani unsa na man? Same *** marriage? Tsk, tsk, tsk.

dili gyud mawala ang stigma towards the third ***? that must be your own opinion reflecting your attitude towards them.

your suggestion sounds naive to me. daghan mga bayot ug tomboy nga gusto manginabuhi ug tarong pero maka atubang jud sila ug diskriminasyon. unsaon pag assimilate bro nga naa lagi stigma in the first place. put yourself in their shoes; di ba maglisod ka...bisag bright jud ka nga maestro or engineer siguro mag open nalang ka ug beauty parlor.

i understand that if it's not intolerance, it's the threat that their anti-discrimination demands might bring. as you said, maybe they'll ask for same-*** marriage..and i'm sure they will. la-in lain man ta mga values noh so each of us will feel differently about that. but that's not even the issue bro, we are just talking about a parade, a march. why shouldn't we let them? mao na mo samot ang third *** ug ka rebelde sa society because we shun them...if not shun, scoff at them. neither helps.
