anybody into frogs

among the many herps that hobbyists abroad collect are frogs, well their frogs are colorful and some even deadly (poison arrow frogs ...dendrobates) so i'm just wondering whether there are any cebuanos here that are also into these slimy yet cute critters..

Here are some pictures I took of our equally stunning and unique frogs.

woah astig. this is the first time i encounter someone who is into frogs. do you just take pictures of frogs? do you collect them or breed?

I used to think that frogs are way too icky as pet until I saw lots of hobbyist in pet forums... I can only tolerate a tadpole pet which I used to have when I was a kid.

aside from taking pictures of them, i also collect them but i dont keep them in terariums i set them free in my ponds (its a big big pond). The common toad does not need any help in breeding, the green frog needs a big pond but the common tree frog needs only a large basin under a shaded area (tree perhaps). So do i breed them........Nope, they just breed on their own and they never left.

well I have been meaning to order a pacman frog from manila unta.. Pero busy lang gyud and my hands are full with two dragons and their food

wow naa diay hilig frog as a pet. nice sad mga boss unique, pero some frog are deadly labi na mga colorful frogs. ingat lang sa mga naay plans

wow nice shots.. hadlok ko ug frogs wen i was younger.. but karon, i chase them! hahahha for fun lang.. i love to see colorfun ones but cautious gamay cuz i dont know which ones has poisons or maka buta! heheh.. and some squirt sum water too!

okay, let me get this straight for everyone's info. Phils has only one potentially dangerous anuran and its non other than the most common cane toad, "Bufo marinus". Mao ni cyang baki.a ang gamitun sa mga science projects nga i dissect and this is the most common anuran through out the Phils. Its dermal glands secrete bufotoxin in cases nga cya masakitan but merely touching the toad is not dangerous. It squirts urine but never the poison, bufotoxin just oozes out of the skin. So not unless you swallow the frog, it wont be able to do you any damage. The giant african frog is also the only frog that can potentially inflict a painful bite. Now when it comes to poison arrow frogs....yes its true nga they have poison on their skin but as again it cant hurt you not unless it finds its way into your bloodstream. So when you handle poison frogs, just make sure you dont have any cuts or wounds otherwise...patay kang bata ka!

do you happen to have a frog prince also? i remember then my 4-year old niece thrust a frog in my face and asked me to kiss it because it might be my frog prince. nyahaha. for a little girl like her i kinda find it a little weird for her to develop a fascination with frogs.

btw, how do you know if its a male or female frog? i hope its not too much to ask if you can post more pics and we wanna see your pond as well. salamat.
