When we first heard about the student-friendly X130e 11.6-inch laptop we were expecting to see it rolled out on December 20th. With that not working out, for whatever reason Lenovo held off until now to list it as being available for order directly from their online shop.

Actual shipments of the X130e are said to commence on February 9th and it is available in two base configurations; one priced at $429 which comes with AMD's E-300 (1.3GHz) APU, 4GB RAM and 250GB HDD, and another at $549 with the use of Intel's Core i3-2367M (1.4GHz) CPU, also with 4GB RAM and a 250GB HDD.
The X130e features a durable casing with rubber bumper running around the top cover as well as a super-tough bezel with solid hinges, keyboard and ports. The notebook ships with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and uses an LED-backlit (1366 x 76 display, integrated graphics, Gigabit ethernet, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, the option of going for a 128GB SSD and up to 8GB RAM, optional Bluetooth and mobile broadband, and a 6-cell battery that is said to give up to 8 hours of operation.
