ok
rand is one of those philosophers (she's not just an author) who you either hate or love... no in betweens. Her philosophy, Objectivism is often quite misunderstood since its veiwed by her critics as individualistic or selfish. that it denounces altruism. I once threw one of her books out the window because at that time i thought it was too much. but as i got older it took me years to appreciate what she was actually saying... I love that she creates characters that are strong-willed like Roark.
Rand once said...
My philosophy, in essence, is the concept of man as a heroic being, with his own happiness as the moral purpose of his life, with productive achievement as his noblest activity, and reason as his only absolute
if your interested in individualism and stuff like that, i recommend reading Max Stirner's The Ego and his Own. one way or the other, you'll outgrow aynrand.![]()
I'm still reading ayn rand's the fountainhead. It's really interesting though. I thought that it would be a bore since the intro kinda sucked.
I got interested because of the introOriginally Posted by saosin_demo

Yep i am not joking. it was last year when i read it. I was really amazed how Howard Roark dealt with people. I have read Fountain Head twiceOriginally Posted by saosin_demo
nope. I didn't mean it like that. Didn't say u were joking. I just meant that its funny since it's the exact opposite of how I interpreted the intro.
