Post The Streets ain't safe anymore..

The streest ain't safe anymore... Police needs to act quick about this..

My cap got stolen this week, i think it was around monday night.. across robinson's.. I was just in the jeepney, some gangster took my cap.. I don't know what the reason was.. I didn't do anything to him.. I wanted to fight back, but then again.. I didn't wanna exchange my life for just some cap.. its just that, it was really sentimental... it was from my friend.. I was just piss off, and I let it go..

when will be this question answered, "When Will The Streets Be Safe?"
    sigh.....

As the days progress and the times get even harder I think that question will not be answered anytime soon. First off, the police can't be everywhere. Second, if they are, you'd be lucky if the cop near you isn't a corrupt one. Let's face it, some cops in this city run their own little dirty business.

What do you do? One good thing to do is to be more aware. Situational awareness is key. Always be on the look out of where you are, who's sitting next to you in the jeep, or who's standing behind you outside the jeep when it stops for the traffic light.

It would also help if you are aware of how street crimes are perpetrated. For example, most hold uppers nowadays are riding motorcycles and victimizing guys walking down a street. If you can identify who are the perps and who are their likely victims and where these crimes usually occur, you stand a chance of avoiding being victimized.

It goes without saying that if you have this mindset your body will present itself as someone who is alert and ready for anything. Perpetrators will avoid persons with those kinds of body language. Usually, they would want to victimize people who are unaware, or too pre-occupied, or just plain galutaw because the element of surprise is on their side. Once maunhan ka nya makuratan ka, wa na jud kay mabuhat. Mogahi nalang ka... You present yourself as an easy target.

Mind if I ask you what you were doing/thinking when the guy took your cap?

Women were once the favorite for perps coz they never fought back.... or so they thought.

There's this one chick I know who was standing in a curb one afternoon waiting for a jeep to pass by. She was wearing this tight fitting shirt and black maong mini skirt. This guy comes around her back holds left her arm and puts his other hand under her skirt without the other people noticing.

Most girls would've froze. She was having none of it. She stomped the guy in the foot with her heeled shoe (Ouch!) and smacked him in the side of the head with her handbag. Her Nokia 5110 was in the bag and it broke.... Gahi baya ng 5110.

I just handed out my fare to the driver, I was on my way home from work.. you know if you're tired, you wanna free your mind from everything.. then, I didn't even notice that the guy passed by, he snatch the cap.. and I was gonna get off, but I thought of it that its a bad idea to fight back.. till the incident happened, I'm not gonna wear those fitted baseball caps anymore.. its expensive anyways..

Yeah. It's their turf. They own the damn place. You yell for help and you could be calling his friends, too.

Asta mga snatcher ron nag networking na. Even the guy who appears to help you and chases the snatcher is most likely a cohort. :-s
