Senior Police Officer 1 Adonis Dumpit, a former close-in aide of Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña, was killed in a drug bust that led to a shootout with authorities in Tagbilaran City, Bohol on Wednesday, June 27.

A police spot report said the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in Bohol led by Renan Oliva and the Tagbilaran City police conducted a drug bust against Dumpit at 8:20 a.m. Wednesday in Purok 1, Dagohoy Road in San Isidro District.

A shootout ensued after Dumpit allegedly fired at the operating team. Dumpit was killed on the spot.

Senior Superintendent Remus Medina, Regional Intelligence Division chief, said 15 packs of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu were recovered from Dumpit.
