Default Update your Nokia N73 firmware to the Music Edition

If you already own a Nokia N73, you can update the firmware to the Music Edition by using the Nokia Software Update with a little "trick". Retailers are just receiving the Nokia N73 Music Edition as this how-to is published, but you do not have to buy the new Nokia N73 Music Edition to take advantage of the new features. Read on to find out how to update the firmware.

Before you decide to update your Nokia N73 to the Music Edition, know that this may void your warranty and you run the risk of breaking your phone. Its worth taking the risk? Find out first what to expect in the new Nokia N73 Music Edition.

Now that you’ve seen how the Nokia N73 Music Edition differs from the standard Nokia N73, do you still want to do it? If so, this is how to update the firmware:

    * Connect your phone and wait for Windows to install the drivers.

    * Open Nemesis Service Suite and click “Scan for new device” on the right-upper part of the window

Download Nemesis Service Suite from here:
    http://www.b-phreaks.co.uk/software.htm

    * Click on the icon “Phone info”

    * Click on “Scan”

    * Change the product code to 0539343 and mark the case “Enable”.
Press “Write”, and your phone’s product code will be changed (you might think that nothing happened, because the phone is still in normal mode, the changing of the product code only takes a couple of seconds, so don’t worry, the product code has already been changed).

    * Close Nemesis Service Suite and run the Nokia Software Update.

Download Nokia Software Update from here:
    http://www.nokia.com/A4176089

    * Make sure not to touch the cable or the phone while your phone is updating or else you will break it!

    * That’s it! When you restart your phone, it should now be the Nokia N73 Music Edition!

No changes in the memory capacity. Music software lang.. Plus the changes developed on the latest firmware. Mas na enhance ang listening experience with the new audio settings: stereo widening and loudness options. Still had no regrets though.. Hehe.

i dun have a nokia N73, but just curious, will this update only affect the built-in audio player? will it affect it's entire firmware? say basically, phonebook? phone memory stored stuff? current phone settings? just curious and perhaps for the benefit of those planning to update their firmware.

same ra...just the music player and the added theme.
what i hate bout it is the media key is stuck to one function (mustic player)
unlike the original which by holding down 2 sec music player starts.
yet pressing once, you can select 4 other programable functions or apps to launch of ur choice.

phonebook and the rest acts the same. music player and media key ra ang different.

if you dont want to use NSU or alter the product code with NSS for warranty purposes (yes this voids the warranty even if unit becomes deadset it can be detected).

i can convert n73 to music edition in aprox 6 mins without NSU, no internet use, without NSS and without modifying the product code
all 4 have its risk kasi...
risk is next to none with my procedue. even if unit becomes dead (which has never happened) due to flashing i have the tools to revive it in less than 10mins
and since i wont be modifying the product code, warranty wont be void even if the phone ends up dead

no its not hacking...nothing was hacked...
    its 100% legal...

self flashing capability is provided by nokia...via their Nokia Software Update...its free and open to the public at nokia.com
even S.E. and moto and siemens has this features...its a way to give bug fixes to the phone without sending in the phone for service.

its like winXP with regular bug fixes updates. consider it like a service pack installer.
if you can tweak and optimize ur windows environment, you can tweak and optimize ur phones as well cant you...well thats if u know what ur doing...again nothing was altered or hacked or cracked
