MSR stands for Mountain Safety Research. this tent is the MSR Hubba 1 (ultralight and freestanding solo tent). freestanding means that the tent is strong enough to withstand the elements even without pegs attached (but of course, this tent comes with the sac, fly, and pegs).

superlight: minimum weight is just 2 lbs. 13 oz. (1.27 kg).
