    I vote for entry #4.

I like the way the colors combine. Specially with the blurred green background. It's very soothing to the eyes.

  5. #5

#4 and #5 with their titles fit the theme of game 1 "nostalgia"...

i vote for #4, good composition and nice colors... shallow depth of field made the difference

#4 though the shallow DOF is a little obviously done on post, but somehow it fits the theme and it is a well-composed shot.

    Thanks for participating you guys.

To all who haven't added any critique: Care to add some critical comments/suggestions as well please? The game's main goal was actually to gather critiques. Thank you!

It's very flattering to receive a "nice picture" but it's also nice to read a nice critical comments or reviews.

Please try to edit your votes to add a little critique for your vote to count. Thanks

    my vote goes to #5
There's something very nostalgic about looking at an old poso. I'd say the choice of subject was spot on.
The background of an old house with broken windows also added to picture quite well.
The title and the little story definitely adds more to the whole feeling of nostalgia.

As for the image--it's quite sharp though i think the background would've looked better if there was a shallower depth of field. I like the colors but also wouldn't mind seeing this picture in with lower, almost fully desaturated look. Great pic.

    [For #3]
It's a good picture. The composition is ok but the horizon is slightly slanted--a degree or two. The rippled reflection looks very good on the calm water. The B&W does give off a nostalgic effec. This is entirely my taste , but I think a sepia effect would've given it a much better feel.

    ------------

    [for #1]

A very classic composition, i think. Looking out to the sea. It's been a very effective way of delivering a nostalgic effect. There's just something about the vast horizon of a seaskape.

The composition is intense. There's a lot of drama in the clouds. There's a beautiful calm sea. Unfortunately, I am left wondering more about who the silhouette is and what she looks like instead. The nostalgic feeling set by the background was drowned by mystery of the really dark silhouette.
