Friendship, How far wil you go for a friend?

I am quite disappointed with my "so-called" friends, it seems like they're there only on the GOOD TIMES but I've never felt they have my back during the times when I needed them. I am a LOYAL friend someone that would never say something bad about a friend or stab them at the back. I am straightforward when they're doing something wrong or if they hurt me. I am also very generous when it comes to my friends, If I have money I would not hesitate to treat them "bisan usa pa mi ka barkadahan". I guess this was my mistake.. I thought that what ever I do to them they would treat me the same. Now I got nothing.. and I don't see them too.

they're what you call "fair-weather" friends...
they're only there during good times...

don't worry TS.. you're not the only one who has friends like that...
I have a couple of friends as well, they only communicate with me if they need me...
one time this friend offered to come and bring breakfast.. I was so happy thinking "wow, that's ultra nice of her..." it turns out, she needed a place to hang out and needed something from me as well...

but sometimes or most of the time it is during your adversities nga manglutaw ang mga kinaiya sa imong mga friends. Naay uban mupabilin, naay uban mamiya.

and you know they are "real" when they help you out of concern, love, charity. meaning, they really spend time, effort, attention, sometimes even money to help you out - even if they know they won't get something in return.

hmmm thats too bad.. I get those kind of people these days.. specially at work.. too bad those precious friends for keeps are sooo much harder to find and keep these days

you know it hurts most because most of the time I have done these things to them, give my time, concern, charity, effort and even money.... I'm not expecting something in return when I did all these.. but I'm disappointed because I feel like I'm not worth the time, concern, charity, effort and even money too during times that I need them.. do you get what I mean?

You shouldn't expect too much from people, and you cannot expect everyone to give something in return.
It will be hard to find true friends, but you can be sure you can be the truest (naa word ani?) friend you can be to everyone. You cannot control anyone, but you can change yourself.

Yes, most of the time. Maybe they really stick around when you have plenty to give...well the people that I met back at school.

the first step you can do is to be a true friend yourself. after ana dali ra mang spot og mga way klaro na friend, and attract those nga tinud-anay nga friends. hehe
