Thumbs up 12V DC inverter to 230V AC

    Guys,

I'm going back to Cdo.. Pero I'm a bit hesitant about power outages ba.. It might prevent me from working.. So did some research. I found out na mas cost effective ang inverter kay sa UPS. Of course, dili xa maka supply ug power daritso if mag brownout.. pero atleast you just need to plug a wire and turn it on. okay na dayn..

Pero akong question is... Naa bay inverter na 600W and higher??

I'm planning to use two car batteries just to make sure it will last 2 to 3 hours.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

    My PC specs is:

    Core 2 Duo E7200
    2 x 2gb DDR2 800 Ram
    ATI Ice 4 turbo 4850 512mb
    500GB Sata II HDD

    Smart bro canopy modem/adapter
    CD-R king LP-8188 Wireless-N Router

    Bonus:

Is it possible to Mod a UPS to make it run longer.. hours instead of minutes?

600W inverter is small... they even sell 10,000W inverters.
You can make it last for hours, it all depends on the type and number of batteries you use.
You can modify a UPS by hooking up bigger batteries.

If gusto ka mo last ug dugay imo battery bro ayaw gamit ug dagko nga wattage sa inverter better use kanang sakto ra sa imo pc.

lagi.. base sa akong calculation.. my pc uses up around 340W including the LCD monitor. mga 50 Watts dayon for the modem and wireless router.

delidako man daw e modify ang UPS.. what i heard is that it's not intended for prolonged use.. mo overheat daw..

if i decide to live in the Philippines long term this would be my setup:

    solar panels and/or 220VAC mains => Charge Controller(s) => banks of Deep Cycle batteries => Inverter(s) => Appliances

mahal kaayo ang solor bro ui.. not to mention hinay kaayo xa... I'd rather buy used oil sa mga fast food and use it to power a diesel generator..
