THE LITTLE PRINCESS I WAS
An original composition...
When I was a kid, my dad used to call me ‘little princess’
and everything I would ask, it would be granted.
I had a wonderful palace, full of magical things.
I also had a beautiful garden with different flowers.
no world was bigger than mine
…because when I was a kid, I used to rule my world. When I was a kid, happiness was just a stretch of an arm.
wounds will always be treated with band aids and lollipops.
pictures of fairies and princes would seem to move
as every line of tales describe them one by one
and sleeping would be as exciting as getting a dollar
under my pillow whenever I lose a tooth for a day.
But when I grew up as a big girl, a lot of things has changed…
the world seemed to be smaller as I grew bigger
asking for something became as challenging as it ever was
palaces seemed to compete with kingdoms
…and competition was as huge as a thundering cloud.
Happiness was hard to obtain
and wounds are not easy to mend
pictures became blurry and unclear
and sleeping was exhausting as battling a monster
…because when I was a big girl… I fell in love and lost my battle…
when I was a big girl… I forgot the little princess I was.
