this would cause another NIKON<<-->>CANON debate again..
the never ending comparison of the two...tsk.tsk! so with the other brands... haaaii..
to the TS, i suggest that you state your BUDGET and the BRAND that your heart really wants..
....or try browsing the previous threads, i think there were some threads that could answer your query now.
==CANONian here== \m/
ayaw CANON, dagyan ka-a-u features nga wala sa NIKON....
Uhm, didn't you read what the OP said? He asked for CANON.

OnT: I'd suggest a 500D. Easy for a beginner yet advanced enough for a professional. Good luck on your dslr hunt.![]()
1. set your budget.
2. choose a model within your budget.
3. read multiple online reviews thoroughly about your chosen model.
4. if the model's reviews are very okay for you, then proceed buying from a reliable seller.
5. if youre cebu based, join in our club here. everybody is welcome. im sure youll enjoy and be happy.
@jerald
please read.. i clearly stated Canon DSLR to avoid the never-ending Nikon-Canon debate..
@tackielarla
how much is the usual price range (brand new) for the 500D?
@chipmunk888
budget isnt much of an issue, i just need to know which Canon model is best suited for beginners so that I could check the online reviews for it..

if budget isnt much of an issue then 5D MkII.... if FPS will be of issue don't get the 5D, I dont know about the 7D's but the 1D will surely deliver nice FPS.
if you really have the passion for photography, say you started photography way back a time ago, then I wont push any of the lower models as your beginner's kit... if you're just testing the waters of photography then the 500D or the 40D is doable... consider the L's of cannon.... but consider my advice last because I am not on the canon system
@recon25
for now im just looking for a Canon DSLR that is really suited for beginners.. i need to explore first the lower models, and once I get the hang of it, i can then go for the higher models..
get a canon 450D and a nifty fifty 1.8. beginner man kaha gyud. am not so sure sa price. just look for it sa buy and sell section. or sa pixel pro or photoshoppe or wherever convenient. and most importantly ... enjoy ... have fun ... and post your pics here para daghan ta malipay!!! hehehe ...
