Getting the same, with a 2mbit line. Most of the time, unable to access istorya.net, endless "Waiting from Response..." or just blank pages etc.
I am quiet sure it started after the change to the new forum (SMF). This happen too with other sites which uses SMF.
If the "server is busy", istorya should not accept more new member until the server is upgraded (bandwidth wise) to be able to serve properly.

This has nothing to do with SMF ... the problems were worse with phpBB. This has nothing to do with bandwidth, the server is in a US datacenter with more than enough bandwidth and from what I recall, BeoR has said that iSTORYA barely uses a fraction of that bandwidth.

This has to do with an overworked CPU. As all of you are aware, iSTORYA does not make any profits. The dedicated server iSTORYA is on comes out straight from the pockets of the admins. Someone needs to pony up 200 dollars a month for a server upgrade and until iSTORYA generates income, guess where that has to come from?

If you would like to help out, please send a check for $2,400 US to Beorific to cover a year's costs on an upgraded server. Contact him for details.

Can I make a query nga mahimo pod suggestion (if technically and economically feasible)? Will it be possible to use RSS (real simple syndication?) for example for each of the forum topics. Bisan siguro 1 or 2 pages lang madisplay per forum topic. Since RSS loads fast, members can quickly scan through the posts of the forum topic they visit and open only those that interest them. Basin easier pa sa CPU load. What do you guys think, puede?
