wat is a good doggie treat for training?? kanang dili commercial na dog treats kay mahal kaau... tabla ra ko mu hire ug trainer kung mag commercial treats ko.. haha

try bacon strips.. those that are not branded para d mahal then cut them into bite size pieces.. just enough for your dog to swallow whole.. kanang d nalang niya usapon para magpangita gyud cya.. my pup loves it.. bacon can be bought in supermarkets..

Bacon in supermarkets? Diba processed meat siya? hmmm, not very healthy for our pets. Why not give raw meat (wala'y timpla)..or if you feel nga dili safe ang raw..then slightly cook lang. :mrgreen:

its not too healthy but it will do... we are not giving large amounts of it to our pets anyway..just tid bits.
if its safe for human consumption it could be safe for our dogs.. not so healthy though... but whats more healthy? bacon strips from supermarkets? or the dirt that our pets sometimes injest? just something for us to think about.. its the bacon's taste that will stimulate your pet's attention to what youre trying to teach him or her.. but hey! its really up to you guys.. you can try anything you want as long as it works for you... dark_rott's suggestion might just work out perfectly for you guys.. im just sharing a tip here.. if you think its wrong, so be it..

as an example, dogs have low tolerance to stuff like msg or monosodium glutamate, and this is used abundantly in processed meat. that's why they can easily be poisoned with vetsin.

another example is chocolate - safe and tasty to humans, toxic to dogs. that is because chocolate contains theobromine, a xanthine compound in the same family of caffeine. give your dog a considerable amount of this and it will give him/her a heart attack.

YEAH i totally agree.. vetsin on processed meat doesnt do good with dogs.. that's why i dont use it at home.. i didnt know that they put so much of that in meat on shelves nowadays..
