Phenom matches Yorkfield clock per clock

New Phenom processors have the same performance for Yorkfield processors with the same clock speeds and Phenom is faster a little bit even with yorkfield on DDR3.

Looks like AMD has to work on their Northbus clock speeds but very promising for the Phenom.

this doesn't say much about the two processors...

1. because they are using total score of 3dmark05. (it could have been better if they showed the cpu score from the 3dmark05 benchmark)
2. it could be that the 3870 videocard performs better in the new chipset used in the AMD setup.
3. resolution in the intel setup cannot be seen...
4. other intangibles could also affect the result... because these are two different setup from two different persons...
5. the overclocking headroom... intel has plenty of it... it can go up to 4ghz on air... while AMD, i doubt if it could reach 3.5ghz.
6. pcmark could be the better benchmark comparing the two processors.

Remember that crysis benchie on Conroe-Yorkfield-Phenom?

The Crysis time demo was run five times and Expreview took the average of those runs, with the Phenom X4 scoring an average 46.48fps, while the QX9650 managed 49.95fps. The Core 2 Duo E6850 scored an average of 49.19fps, while the Core 2 Extreme QX6850 managed 49.92.

As stated in the review Phenom's memory runs only 375mhz versus 400hmz on Intels setup, + the lower bus speed of Phenom compare to Intel's bus ramping to 1333fsb. For me its not realy a complete lost on AMD, with only 3fps behind that doesnt matter, quad for quad , clock for clock and disregard the overclocking limit on AMD, it could be a tie.^^

The only problem is that the Core 2 Duo E6850 seemed to outperform it. Or maybe even a 4HGz overclock E2160 still out performs the Phenom x4 if tested, ^^ Then perhaps Phenom x2 or X3 might be the answer for these problemo, it may not outperform Intel but at least they are close, just to keep the competition Healthy w/c is good for us consumers^^

if they priced it significantly lower than intel's processors. then they'll be fine...

well, sakto ka...it does perform on par with a yorkfield in this sense...they should make their prices way below the lowest yorkfield or maybe on par...kay lami kaayo tan-awn ang price tag sa yorfield, considering the performance and oc'ing potential...

amd has ways...they've been fixing errata na...hopefully, ok ang mahitabo.

AMD is catching up from what I see. And before you post please consider that were talking about same clock speeds.
