i tried to pull out the ide hdd bec i suspected its a virus attacking the os but unfortunately its not coz even without ide its the same problem. thanks.

I'm suspecting the PSU is the culprit one. Try to replace the PSU then observe if it persist.

Specs of motherboard and PSU? Probably the latter. Upgrade to 600W.

Try checking the CPU and System Temperature during startup immediately after it shuts down (turn on your PC after it shuts down).
My suspect is the CPU is overheating and ASUS C.O.P (CPU Overheating Protection) is shutting down the system to avoid damage to your CPU by overheating. Pentium 4 has high power consumption (about 100W) this could heat up the CPU esp the HT series. Try lang bro improve ang ventilation or cooling sa imo PC.
