Default Intel Unveils Devil Canyon Chip

Usually the GDC is all about the games and related gaming technologies. This year at the 2014 Games Developers Conference Intel had decided it was the time to talk about their new processor line-up. The 3 new and powerful chips that were unveiled by Intel this week are undoubtedly going to appeal to the PC gamer market.I believe that the highest possible performance from a chip for a desktop PC that is available for purchase today, is an Intel Core i7 4770 chip. But all that is about to change. In the next few months Intel will be releasing the new chip called ‘Devil Canyon’. This is a specially manufactured and unlocked Haswell Core i7 processor with an enhanced thermal interface and CPU packaging. What that fundamentally means is that it is going to be clocked higher and can be overclocked even higher. The chip can achieve both whilst maintaining lower temperatures than existing Core chips.

Intel has also announced a spanking new Extreme Edition Core processor, which not only squeezes in 8-cores and thereby 16 threads, but it includes support for DDR4 memory. That should appeal to any user who always wants more performance form their memory bandwidth and works with video editing or 3D content.
And finally Intel has detailed what just maybe a budget over-clocker’s dream chip. Intel is releasing a multiplier unlocked Pentium processor. They are doing this in recognition of the brand’s 20th anniversary. A user can tweak both the core and memory frequencies to their desired specifications. Obviously you will need adequate cooling for the variations in the tweaks you perform.

Although they have confirmed the release of this new set of power processors, Intel has yet to confirm what the final specification of each of these new chips will be. All eyes to Intel and the second half of 2014, as it is certainly going to be an interesting time period for the enthusiast and budget PC builders amongst you.

is it wise to go for these haswellRefresh, or better wait for broadwell? ;p

^ for me, it would be better to wait for the Broadwell or Skylake (layo2x pa ni hinoon) kun mag upgrade ta if naka Sandy Bridge or Ivy Bridge ta or even naka AMD's offering ta like the Bulldozer & Pile Driver micro-architecture or their APUs... if mo decide ang user na mo shift to Intel's offering...

but, kun naa budget, then why not, dba? nothing can stop us in our shopping galore... ang maka stop lang... kay kun minyo then dili mo sugot ang asawa or naa'y budget-tan para sa pamilya... hehehe... fact of life man ni sya... sa mga singles, aw, kun naa cash on hand unya mangatol, aw, piti dayon...

a friendly advice to all including myself... dili lang gyud ta mag palabi ani atoang passion specially, if i-credit card nato ang purchase kay na, mag labad ta'g bayad unya... hehehe... but, this is not applicable to all hinoon, naa'y exemptions... another fact of life...

another upcoming technology na atoang bantayanan kay ang PCIe 4.0... no idea pa ta if unsa ang actual performance gain... but, i assumed na dako ang actual leap ani nya... not like sa PCIe 2.0 vs PCIe 3.0... na double performance gain on "paper" but its negligible on the actual performance comparison... maybe, daghan limitation sa other components... but we can not be sure if this limitation would be the same to the upcoming technologies...

"Let's just relax, take a cup of coffee or tea... then wait and see"... charing... bwehehehehe...
