hi.

i'v been browsing the forums and i'v noticed, most of the console gamers here in cebu own PS2s. maihap ra cguro tag-iya xbox. im wondering ngano kaha? d ba duol2x ra mn price sa PS2 og xbox? is it the availability of games? naa bay complications ang xbox diri sa phils? is it the access to add-ons and mods? or what?

pls i need your input guys, im trying to decide if im gonna buy an xbox instead of going for a PC upgrade.

so, which should i get? coz i know im not getting a PS2.

can anybody give me the pros and cons of the xbox? (taking into account that we're in cebu) or maybe a list on why i should/should not get an xbox? any help would be very much appreciated.

I think it has to do with the hold the PS1 had. It already had ground that the Xbox could never recover. In the US ... the Xbox could recover from the ground lost, but not in the Philippines where most cannot afford to invest in two major consoles.

My advice is ... if you like gaming, and that is the reason you are going to upgrade your PC, an Xbox is the way to go. I have a highly modded Xbox and it's taken a lot of my PC gaming time ... and YES I was a being PC gamer. If you want to run pirated software, make sure you get a modded Xbox. Unless you are heavily into modding, which mod chip you get shouldn't matter.

There is a lot to learn with a modded Xbox ... certainly more than you could read before you decide tomorrow. If you do decide to get an Xbox and want to trick it out, www.xbox-scene.com is your best source for all that is Xbox related.

thanks bro. anything else i should know about? kon kaw pabut-on, geforce 6600gt AGP? o xbox? how bout xbox live? naa na dre? i heard naa sa manila. sorry la jud ko lamag ana xbox, but iv heard nice reviews bout the console so nahan ko palit. whats the drawback of modding/hacking an xbox? (well, aside from the danger of damaging the xbox) thanks au.

If you don't already have an Xbox ... then yes I'd get an Xbox. One more thing, when you buy your Xbox with a modchip, make sure you can turn the mod chip OFF so you can play on Xbox Live. You will need an original game to play on Xbox Live as well as monthly fees. You can play on Live if you can get billed (by credit card, or a play card(not sure what they call it)). There is no drawback for a modded Xbox that I know of.

Its more on the games, if you are into Tekken 5, Grand Turismo 4, GTA: SA, FFXIII(), Metal Gear 3, etc.. get PS2, if you r into Halo 2 etc.. get Xbox

if you're into consoles, and you can't decide, this is cool news... start saving. it won't be long till the xbox 360 is out... if im not mistaken, i think i read somewhere it'll be oct this year the earliest. Mockups have already appeared all over like this one:

PS2 - 128 bit processor emotion engine at 200mhz.

X-Box- PC in a console box with 700mhz Pentium 3, processor and Nvidia Graphics processor.

If you already have a gaming PC, forget about X-Box its practically the same as a Gaming PC. only PCs are
faster and better.
