SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

We are looking for a Software Development Manager to work on a variety of search engine related projects. You will be working across the full development cycle from architecture to design to coding and implementation. Furthermore, technical leadership of project teams of over 30 Software Engineers will be an integral part of this role. The successful candidate will have had exposure to cross-disciplinary environments: software, firmware/embedded, and hardware.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for managing the efficient day to day running of the team's work volumes and allocations.
• First point of contact with internal stakeholders including day to day communication.
• Prepares functional specifications from which programs will be written, then designs, codes, tests, debugs and documents programs.
• Participates in the technical design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance of website enhancements.
• Recommends best practices, develops guidance and content standards, and ensures best practices and standards are met and maintained.

You will ideally have experience in the following:

• Very strong experience in a technical leadership role with a proven track record of managing software engineers.
• Solid understanding of PHP, Ajax, JSON, XML, HTML/HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, C/C++, C#, APS .Net, Java,
• Strong understanding of MySQL, including complex queries and indexing
• Worked in an SDLC environment including version control system (SVN)
• Demonstrated understanding of usability issues, knowledge of web standards and human interface guidelines.
• Experience with APIs
• Experience with Unix/Linux Operating Systems
• Background in

Your background;

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or any related field. Preferably with Masters Degree.
• Outstanding leadership skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong project estimation and planning skills
• Passion for quality high-end systems and development
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Outstanding problem-solving, conceptual thinking, and knowledge of software engineering

In addition the successful candidate must be willing to occasionally travel to Perth, Australia for training and other operational requirements.
