Default How to determine MF yield?

Kinsay kahibalo ninyo unsaon pag-determine sa Mutual Fund yield?
Please tabangi ko kung sakto ba akong kwenta.

I invested in Sunlife Balanced Fund and Peso Bond Fund.
Early this year, Balanced Fund had a unit price of P 2.5307
Then as of today ang unit price kay P 3.0992 na.
    Sakto ba nga i-minus nato ang P 2.5307 gikan sa P 3.0992?
Sakto ba ang yield nga P 0.5685?
Kung sakto ni do I multiply this sa number of units so that
if I have 20,000 units, my investment earned P 11,370 in a few months?
    Sa Balanced fund ra ni.

    Please enlighten me.
    Salamat!

There are two ways on how to compute MF yield:

First, just subtract the current NAVPS from your buying NAVPS then calculate the growth in percentage.

Example: You invested P10,000 at NAVPS of P1 and you got 10,000 shares or units. Two months after, the NAVPS went up by P0.10 or became P1.10.

    P1.10 (current NAVPS) - P1 (buying NAVPS) = P0.10
    (0.10 / 1) X 100% = 10%

Second, calculate the number of shares you own and multiply it by the current NAVPS then subtract it from the original investment.

From the same example above, you get 10,000 shares. Just multiply 10,000 shares to the current price which is P1.10.

    10,000 (number of shares) X P1.10 = P11,000
    P11,000 (current equity) - P10,000 = P1,000
    (P1000 / P10000) X 100% = 10%

**The second one though is advisable because MFs is all about owning shares/units.
