Default Cebu Dimsum places are the best!

I have been a Dimsum lover and when I moved here in Manila and craved for Dimsum, I was so disappointed to know that Dimsum places like Super Bowl of China, Luk Yuen, etc are not even half as good as with those in Cebu i.e Harbor City, Ding Qua Qua, Dimsum Break, Tsim Tsa Tsui... Nothing beats them!

hehehe. Manila foods are just the hype. in reality mahangin lang talaga sila sa mga pagkain nila. HINDI naman masarap. you'll just be disapointed in the end. hahay countless of times countless!!!

to be honest the old ding qua qua was phenomenal. but today i cannot say that they retain the old recipe. the harbor, ding and dimbreak are all the same and run by the same family.

sadly they made there food into an industrialized heavily laced with MSG dishes that made you dizzy everytime you eat at there restaurant.

true compared to dimsun houses in manila these restaurant are still better.

i suggest you try dimsum houses that originated in davao. mandarin, dimsum diner.
you will be surprised how they taste. you can really differenciate every siomai variety. not like siomai in dimsum break or harbour that they just put quail egg and mushroom and post it as different.

Naka-abot pa ko sa original nga Ding Hao (before it became Ding Qua Qua, Dimsum Break and Harbour Dimsum)....original place nila is that building sa Legaspi St. tapad sa old Cebu Bycicle supply during the 70's...naa sila sa roof deck....and all the tables had red table tops.....ang ilang kompitensya before was Great Han Palace sa Osmena blvd (on the building now occupied by Joven's Grill), Majestic Restaurant (sa Colonnade), Snowsheen Restaurant, International Rice House sa Colon og Visayan Restaurant at Manalili.....yup, the food now taste different but it still largely retains the original taste......worst branch of Dimsum Break is sa Gaisano Tabunok..wala ko kasabot sa ilang steam rice kay pilit-pilit ang kan-on...
