    Default The Philippines: A New Capital of Call Centers

    http://www.nytimes.com/2011/11/26/bu...ters.html?_r=1

    Just saw this little tidbit over at HARDOCP - A New Capital of Call Centers, a tech site I frequently visit.

    Hard to believe we are overtaking India. Always thought they would be holding this title.

    @Mods: Feel free to merge this with a related topic. Though I really feel this deserves it's own post.

    correct.. kung walay call center.. asa na kaha mga graduates karon no? mag work sa fastfood chains?! seriously.. unsa man na companya maka absorb ug thousands in terms of workforce requirements.. call center ra. But lets not rest on our laurels, I just hope BPOs will diversify from voice support to other forms of specialization (like what India is doing).

    The call center industry is the biggest black hole for skilled workers. It's taking away potential professors, engineers, doctors, inventors and skilled technical laborers turning them into mindless hypocrites and uncivilized brats (pwera labot sa dili apil).

    I admit im in one of these companies, but I am itching to get away. India was lucky they let go, but we, we took the bait.

    I can't edit my post with this browser in the office, post lang ko lain hehehe.

    @my last post,
    Fuelled by the inability of our government to provide jobs and keep our workers. It's just me, I may lack the necessary "information" when I formulated my opinion, but that is how I see it. Prove me otherwise.

    yes but not entirely, as what ive observed daghan kaayo nikuha ug kurso nga irrelevant na kaayo or daghan na kaayo kompetensya like nursing... sa kadaghan nga nikuha daghan kaayo dili maka trabaho kay gamay ra ang slots... at one point ma blame pud and ginikanan ug ang estudyante... dapat gi anticipate to... i anticipated my college studies that it will still be viable for next couple of decades...

    realistically dont expect nga mo daghan ang investor sa pilipinas... philippines is apparently not investor friendly tungod sa mga balaod nato...

    let's not point at one direction... we should look into ourselves and asked why wala koy trabaho... it is easy to blame others than to accept nga naa sad tay sipyat..
