...flashing or flushing?...basta its like reinstalling ur 6600 OS........

...to let your 6600 play mp3s you must install a program or application like viking mp3 player, ultra mp3.....etc.

FLASHING is the process of loading the FIRMWARE (you may think of it as reinstalling the OS from scratch...fine

some term this as UPGRADING but it can also be downgrading in some cases when situations calls for it.

what is it for? flashing can fix many of the problems of a 6600.
upgrading it can also prevent problems from ever occuring!
5.53 latest version is very stable now. so if ur using a lower version i suggest you have it upgraded befroe you lose ur data or before magka problem imo phone.
type *#0000# sa phone to check ur version.

3.47 (1st release very buggy)
4.09 (wont work with smart 64k sims)
4.17 (fix few of the major bugs same with 4.09 but will now work with smart sims)
5.27 (fix more minor bugs and optimized it)
5.53 (latest today, fix all major bugs and increased speed, reliability and stability)
