in my opinion, if you can really afford i7, go for it. besides, you are starting from scratch so mobo and memory purchases will not hurt that much compared to upgrading since these parts would be useless if you already have them.

the difference between corei7 and 9550 full rig is around 10-15k only.

if you go for 9550 id suggest go for cheaper mobo and ram. save as much as you can.
else go for corei7 investment.

i still have not overclock my computer - corei7+gigabytex58.
maybe later na, so far it satisfies my needs.
