internal dvd burner connected to laptop?

i want to burn DVDs from my laptop. but i've got very limited budget. so i did some "research" and found this option that will cost me only P1,200--> connect an internal dvd burner instead of the pricey external dvd burners..

i found this cheap dvd burner which costs only P700 (used LG DVD WRITER 20X GSA-H55L LIGHTSCRIBE), however it is internal.

but i did found USB 2.0 to IDE / SATA adapter (Triple Head) (onlyP500) too which basically connects internal hardwares to a laptop..(?)

so, my question is: what could be the difference if im gonna use the internal dvd burner for an "external" use? if there are any consequences, would that be a very big deal? To what extent are my future problems having this kind of scenario?

you can live w/o the enclosure

1 of your probs is portability..

given your going to power that dvd drive w/ a regular psu. puhon magdaladala ka og psu, dvd drive, connectors, & laptop. pero ok ra ni kay sa balay raman lang ka mag-burn.

u can still find other ways...

triple head comes with power adapter for your dvd writer so no problem with the power source. the problem is that your internal dvd writer will be exposed to dust and you may encounter short circuit if the chips of the internal drive comes in contact with metallic materials.

my advise is: internal dvd writer + dvd writer enclosure = cheap solution and works just like an external dvd writer.
