Does saying a PROMISE a sin?

one of the parish priest told me that saying a PROMISE is a sin...

until then i never say promise to the people i talk to...
because maybe i can't do the favor they want and i make them disappoint...

Inever say the word PROMISE if im not sure if I can fulfill it or do it. so i think its a sin if you make one but disappoint the person.

IMO if you don't do your promise, then that's a sin coz its synonymous to lying but if you mean what you promise, then that's good.

SIN, if in time you made the promise,you're sure you wont do it.

It's not always that if dili matupad ang promise SIN na...depende sa reason why wala nabuhat.
If its reasonable enough, then its NOT a SIN.
