Not sure if this will work but might be worth a try . . .

Option 1. Make a user name which is the same as the one using the harddrive from the other computer. Use the same password used by that user name. Log-in into this profile and you can access documents. Remove password if you want

Option 2. if the harddrive from the other computer has an OS, you could try putting it as master and see if it boots. If it does you can then log-in using the user name of the one who owned that folder and remove password protection

Assuming you are using windows XP with NTFS File System

    Dongie's suggestion will not work.

1st option : SAM's encryption relies on a specific installation OS installation.
2nd option : you cannot transport Windows XP OS installation to another machine unless they have the same specs specifically the chipset.

As a suggestion, you follow this steps :

    1. You must login as an administrator or an account with Admin rights.
    2. open a windows explorer (or by clicking the My Computer icon)
    3. in Tools->Folder Options->View uncheck the Use Simple File Sharing (you can see this at the bottom)
    4. In your slave disk, Locate the folder wherein you have an "Access Denied Error"
    5. Right Click that folder then click on Properties.
    6. You should see a Security Tab. If you you can't see the Security Tab go back to Step 1.
    7. You may noticed that there are unknown accounts, its because of the SAM that did not match .
    8. In Security Tab, Click Advanced
    9. Click the Owner tab.
    10. Under the change owner to, Highlight the one with administrators group.
    11. Be sure to check the Replace owner on subcontainers and objects.
    12. You click ok.
    13. Close the Security Property window.
    14. You should be able to access the folder by this time.

    @shadowkenshin

    thanks dude!

although i experience some hard time to crack this down pero at last naka sulod gyud ko. I also tried backup/restore files.

first i back-up the folder that i can't access then save to my C:/. after that i restore the backup files to a specific folder of my C: then a prompt message that to check or uncheck Restore File Security and I uncheck that one. Then walla! I can access na the folder.

I also retried your suggestions shadowkenshin and i can now access to the windows system to get my font files. hehehe got it all!
