guys, ask lang ko regarding sa mga video cards...
asa man mas nindot if single card setup or dual? in terms of performance
i.e. would a 8800gt SLi perform better than a 9800gx2? same as a 2x3870 in crossfire or a 3870x2?

Crossfire scales better than SLI which means you get more performance using crossfire rather than SLI.
Using Nvidia card better go with single card. For ATI crossfire, performance doubles when comparing to a single ATI card.
9800gx2 or 3870x2 are the same compared to their single card counterparts but its x2.
dual cards always performs better than sigle cards provided they have the same generation. Even 9800gx2 performs better than GTX280 in most cases.
harvz...grabeh nana imo pang huna2x dah...all out man...hehe ang 8800gt sa newegg $120 nlng wala labot shipping...unsa man?hehehe hapit nako mupalit ani..
true. most reviews would say so that crossfires work better then sli'ed cards. dual-core cards also works better than crossfired or sli'ed cards in most cases. this is because the cores are designed to work as one "hardwarically" (what a word), meaning linkages are done thru hardwares than thru firmwares/softwares. mas dali therefore and transfer sa data.
@isyot: kaw lang cguro una syot. nag huna2x pa ko unsa mas maayo 8800gt SLi or 3870 xfire, pero mas barato gihapon ang 3870, ang mobo moy problem nasad ani.
ei, i think you're missing my point, its not about ati and nvidia or which brand performs better. what im trying to point out is if mas maayo ba mag crossfire og 2 3870 or just buy the single 3870X2, same goes with nvidia, is it better to buy a single 9800GX2 or an 8800gt SLi.
If it doesn't matter to you which scales effectively then it doesnt matter if you use ATI or NVidia.
better go for single 16x mobos and purchase an x2 card. dual PCIE motherboards are expensive. So 9800gx2 or 3870x2 is the better solution.
Purchase only dual pcie motherboards if you want to go to extreme setup like dual 9800gx2 or 2x 3870x2.
^yeah, one thing i also considered is my mobo, it has only one PCI-e slot, but with the price of the two GPUs, i'll go with ati. but i would really love to try having a SLi or xfire setup.
9600GT scales well via SLi. check the net on this. i might be wrong.![]()
