Which of the two adages has more wisdom?

"Out of sight out of mind" meaning, kung layo ka sa imong uyab, malimut ka sa iya and find someone else like what an author said "when I am not near the one I love, I love the one I'm near."

OR

"Absence makes the heart grow fonder" meaning, mas ma-realize nato nga love nato ang usa ka tawo kung wala [na] sila and be become even more in love with them.

...weeezz! ka lisud! i think mas ni-apply nako karon ang "absence makes the heart go fonder..." , bsta lang ba naa lang japon inyong communication, kay dha man gud magsugod2x ug kawala ang spark kung murag naglimtanay na bitaw, kanang wa nay paki kung nag-unsa ang isa..

...i used to experience the first stanza which could be rephrased as "absence makes the heart go WOnDEr.." and tungod jud to kay la nay trust sa usag-usa.. and for the fact nga layo jud ang tao nga imong gi-need intimes nga down ayo ka or u badly needed someone to comfort u...

...pero if love jud ninyo ang usag-usa nuh, and u both got the elements of a lasting long distance relationship mas bug-at ang 2nd stanza,..

karon, ts' the latter..absence makes the heart grow fonder..naa man ko manila ron..huhuhu..but the distance isn't an obstacle for us..it makes our relationship grow stronger and more mature and made us realize that not all the time naa ang imu uyab sa imung tapad..but nevertheless, if you love the person he'll always stay with you no matter where you are..char..

kung sa psychology pa na... according to Jean Piaget's Cognitive Developmental Stages.... kanang "out of sight, out of mind" nga thing.... pang infants man na.... object permanence ang tawag ana. so since dili naman bata kay ang bata dili man mainlove....nya tarung napud ta ug memory, "absence makes the heart grow fonder" ko mu agree...


paki change lang sa "out of sight, out of mind" nga thing into...."Distance makes the heart forget."

It's highly subjective..Lahi2 og temperament ang tawo and lahi2 pod og gusto..Naay uban na daili mapul-an kun pirme nila makit-an, so they find it better to have someone na far from them..Maka-add man daw og spice and excitement when they see each other again..Others opt for a person who are with them always..The bonding spent with the object of affection helps strengthen the relationship..
Personally, I am the "out of sight, out of mind" type..So, long distance relationships don't work for me..

Absence makes the heart grow fonder...my take...so you're saying, you weren't that fond of him/her to begin with, when he/she was near?
