hello all...just wonderin' if anybody has read any of Rumi's works...he is absolutely fantastic and i would like to share some of his works if anyone is interested...

anyway Rumi is a Sufi mystic (Sufi is Islam's mystical sect)....the practice of sufism is the seeking of truth through love and devotion to God. A Sufi is a lover of truth ..of the perception of the absolute....

Rumi..the poet of the soul ....kahibulongan sad ni siya...like Kahlil Gibran, Paulo Coehlo etc....one of my favorites mao share lang sad ko...

@tambuk....paulo coehlo is the brasilian author who wrote The Alchemist among others yes......i dont know if write sad siya poems.....ako lang gi post to ako top three faves namely gibran, coehlo and rumi...mao to

...si rumi naa sad short stories not only poems...each story has a spiritual message , a holy message that applies across all faiths , uttered from the heart of Islam....translated na lang ni nga works bro...i wish i can understand arabic....mas nindot jud tingali....anyway below is a sample of his poems...

The Truth Within Us

Twas a fair orchard,
full of trees and fruit
And vines and greenery. A Sufi there
Sat with eyes closed, his head upon his knee,
Sunk deep in meditation mystical.
"Why," asked another, "do you not behold
These signs of God the Merciful displayed
Around you, which He bids us contemplate?"

"The signs", he answered, "I behold within,
Without is nothing but symbols of the Signs."

What is beauty in the world? The image.
Like quivering boughs reflected in a stream,
Of that eternal Orchard which abides
Unwithered in the hearts of Perfect Men.


di ni maoy pina ka power bro...pero maoy readily available nako karon...so there....kahibulongan ni si Rumi bro kay mystic man ni siya... he related his stories to his fascinated audiences while he whirled in meditation and trance...

strict upbringing gyud of roman catholic faith.

i wish to learn arabic.

@tambuk...catholic man sad ko bro...as in....catholic schools gani ko nag HS and college....pero i believe in universal spiritual philosophy ...so read ko tanan....i am into Zen ....ganahan sad ko teachings ni Buddha...and now I am reading the Quran ( parehas man ta trip oi he he he) ....pero Jesus freak jud ko...for me he is the greatest of all the sages...

sige i-goggle lang...nya i-apil ang The Prophet ni Kahlil Gibran....i assure you ...you would fall off your seat inig kabasa nimo :mrgreen:
