U2s music has really gone downhill esp. if you compare their recent album "How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb" with "Joshua Tree" or "War"

if im not mistaken both U2 & REM had a superduper concert together with the REM vocalist singing U2's One (kept a copy of the song in my player). this song was also re-made last year or 2 years ago by Mary J. Blige & U2........
i preferred the REM version, more soulful than Bono....

re new wave - most of the new wave artists in the 80's turned out to be 1-hit wonders, except for one major icon - Madonna.

there were also the british invasion or the new romantics (eg. Spandau Ballet) that were alternative to new wave (assuming they do not fall under the New Wave category)....

BTW does punk rock (like Billy Idol & Twisted Sister) falls under New Wave or do they belong to another category?

do you believe punk was the father grudge in the 90's?
