i dont know what youre doing actually, it should. ive had done that when my intel 845pe mobo was busted and i replace with asus mobo with via chipset.
edit typo....
not doing anything odd. just replaced mobo. that's it. i know this is supposed to happen coz this happened to another pc too and i reformatted that. my friend also told me that's how it is. but now i don't wanna reformat.
when i start it up, it just reboots... :c
i think i figured out something.. will update..
Heres are the steps without re-install the OS.
Device Manager
IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers
Primary IDE Channel
Secondary IDE Channel
Intel Bus Master IDE Controller <<< Double Click
Double click then goto Driver tab, Click Update Driver.
Choose: install from a list or specific location(Advanced), Click Next.
Choose: Don't search. I will choose the driver to install, Click Next.
Choose: Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller, Click Next. ( It will update the driver )
Completing the hardware update wizard, Click Finish.
System Settings Change, Click Yes. ( If you click No, it will back the original driver )
Shutdown your pc then replace your intel mobo to Via mobo.
After you replaced the VIA mobo the windows will continue update the drivers... and so on.
-end-
got it.disabled the intel ide controller, set it to ms dual channel cntrlr.
thankz istorya nimo, but i figured it out... cool complete steps tho.![]()
Don't Disable, Bro. Just update to Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller ONLY.
it's ok since i wont be using the ide controller from the previous chipset, it really won't matter.![]()
