  1. ISTORYA BLOG #65: Storm Hikers

    Featured in www.pinoyapache.blogspot.com on December 8, 2009

AFTER AN ABSENCE OF more than a month, I am reunited again with Boy Toledo, of Ernie Salomon and, later, with Manwel Roble. Here we are again, maintaining our physical conditioning program walking the mountain trails of Napo to Mount Babag in the middle of an ongoing tropical depression! Just three has-beens so madly in love with these trails. The same three has-beens that would shame guys 25-30 years our junior in a test ...

  4. ISTORYA BLOG #64: Trees and Architects

    Featured in www.pinoyapache.blogspot.com on November 6, 2009

I SAW TODAY, November 6, 2009, the felling or the sentencing to death, so to speak, of a jackfruit tree and a mango tree, both full grown and in the prime of their existence, because it gets in the way of a hotel rising in Cebu. Too bad, I wished I have trees as big as those in my lot.

I have tasted their sweet fruit only this year because this is the year that they have started to bloom well, thanks to the ...

  5. Experiences

    My heart longs for happiness
It has buried me in deep sadness
    Longing myself to regain it

    My heart longs for security
For it has been shattered and molded
    But still a fragile instrument

    My heart longs for love
Countless times have I shared to others
    But ended myself in grief

    My heart longs for confidence
Long have I pursued that lifelong dream
    Yet reality hurts even more

My heart longs for realization ...
  6. La Pensamiento de la Vida

In our words we utter exceptional intonations
In our minds we expand intellect beyond measure
In our actions we iterate symbols of anonymity
In our perceptions we foresaw the inevitable

Nothing is ascertain to utter words
For it needs time to rekindle our minds
And our actions would lay waste to retribution
Would our perceptions delude our entire sanity

Decisions are steadfast and a prey for the foolhardy
    Philosophy ...

  7. Ad Server Woes

OpenX has been running as iSTORYA.NET's Ad Server for the past 3 or 4 years. Lately, the server hosting our Ad Serving software has been experiencing some technical issues and would require an OS Reload. This made me realize the drawback of hosting our own Ad Server. While having full control is a wonderful thing, restoring a server and everything in it isn't as nice. So I said to myself, this cannot be the case. As the community grows, the amount of data increases. From stats to creatives... these ...
