Advantage and Disadvantage sa Surplus Unit vs. Local Unit

let me cite some examples sa ako auto (EG hatch) vs surplus...

local:
- left hand na xa daan
- nay taya ang atop ug ang body
- PAWIS steering and windows...hehe
- if long drive k at peace ako mind k khbw ko wlay convertion gbuhat

surplus:
- need pa e convert from RHD to LHD
- surplus or JDM unit k dli jud tayon kay nindot ug material ang gi gamit
- POWER steering and windows
- nindot ug makina
- nindot na ug interiors kay sa ako local unit


uban tao k mo prefer jud ug surplus than local unit, naa puy uban nga local jud gusto...

some surplus units have very hard to find ng mga pisa.. maka boang og pangita og brand new and usahay wa pa jd surplus.. but nindot lng jd ang surplus if naa ka specific na ganahan na car, engine or features or something.

local units kay ang availability jd sa mga pyesa but same ra mn para nako ang duha.. as long as sure ka na maau ang condition sa car

difference between the local and the surplus hatch kay ang local mu-taya iya atop.. ang surplus dli..
Local hatch has small engines, surplus has the B-Series..

these are basic difference of a LHD and RHD running in our streets.

1. Dash board. Converted vehicles cut and paste external parts of dash (better kung palitan nalang ug LHD) which will result to eye soar labi na kung deli maayo pagkabuhat. This is also the same sa mga Aircon ductings where converted dash tend to leak its aircon tubings/ductings going to the side. Apil nasad deri ang head/signal light and wiper controls where bali sila.

2. Steering system. much better if ilisan gyud natu ug LHD steering kit of same car model, for safety concern

3. Power window controls and A/T knobs are obviously opposite.

4. Head light Lense. If you notice head light lenses are desinged to enlighten more on the side walk side than the opposing traffic side. Thus if you are facing an incomming surplus unit masilawan ka sa suga compared if you are at his sidewalk. meaning ang local units has more light projected to the right than to the left, this is to avoid blindness to incoming traffic.

5. Surplus unit however has better material quality labi na sa body dugay tay-on..

6. Surplus units has more features than local. but the FM station frequency is different from local.

nice ang surplus in terms of performance and looks, especially those na wala gi-release diri. i used to own a toyota surf with 3.0 turbo engine kadtong dako na na murag prado. it's very powerful, cheap, comfortable and good looking...

...but...

nibigay iya steering. as in naputol jud ang gi-weld na connection point sa shaft. good thing kay diri ra sa parking area sa office. sus, kung didto pa to sa SRP at 120kph, murag sa dagat jud ko puniton (if mabuhi man gani).
