TS, what exactly prompted you to think you need a full system upgrade?
For all you know, your 3570 is still a very capable gaming processor even by todays standards. (i know hell well because i have kept an i5-760 and still kicking a$$ on current titles, no noticeable difference with my 4770k on 1080p). Plus getting even the latest AMD processor would be a downgrade from your 3570. Lol!

If i were you id keep my money and buy a GTX 1070 then play til i drop. Forget about everybody else flaunting their new rig on Christmas day. Ayaw kabalaka, power pa kaayo imo rig bai.
This is what I advised TS - it seems iyang main reason for upgrade is di siya ganahan ma run out of parts for upgrade/repair kay basin ma obsolete. His current rig can handle latest games. He just needs a GPU upgrade hehehehe

yep thats my main reason, i give my rig around 2-3 years before its gonna break down ( negatively speaking though hehehe) but yeah worst case is, it will last around that and by that time parts are very rare. so might as well upgrade (gradual) maybe shift to AMD (maybe?) so its gonna be maintainable.. watchu think? hehehe

i was gonna buy maybe 1060 or 1070 but naka huna2 ko kaya pa man sa games nga akong gina duwa ( dota2, diablo3, etc) minus the high end ones (battlefield and stuff, napul-an na diay ko hehe) so i was saving for a new rig na lng nothing beats the feeling of having a new rig though brandnew parts smells good also (hehehe fetish)

BTW i WAS gonna buy a new GPU since AMD GPU (my 7870) always have a crap driver, mag cge lng og error panagsa blue screen, staring kaayo siya sa event log sa windows ahahaha iyang trend kay kada update nila sa ilang software manggawas ang error after a few updates kay mahinay2 na og kawala but then again that kind of tred really sucks its like g himo ko nila og bug tester hehehe

I dont quite agree with your approach. It is a little unreasonable if i may say because there is no point in replacing that which is perfectly fine now just for the upgradability feature when in fact you can have a whole new system in 3 years rather than having a new platform now then upgrading parts later on.

If you come to compare 2 options:

1 option where in 3 years you have spent money twice but end up with an upgradable platform (maybe your last upgrade path by then)
    or
2nd option where at the end of 3 years, you will spend once for a whole spankin new system (maybe an upgradable platform with possibly 2 or more paths))

    asa ka sa 2?

just interjecting my points here... wala may need i maintain kung PC stuff bro... except lang kung naay premature failure or mga cleaning maintenance...

dali ma obsolete is the norm nowadays considering how fast technology evolves... but this is relative... do you really need to updgrade? ika nga, if ain't broken, don't fix it...

processor/RAM/mobo matters, wala kay ika guol basta dili lang maguba... your 3570 can still eat anything for lunch...

kung gaming imo concern, upgrade lang og video card and perhaps maybe more RAM... you should be fine...

to be honest, my 3570K (running on stock), wala pa gyud koy "need" mag upgrade, again, it can still take anything for lunch...

i don't game anymore so GTX750Ti is more than enough for me nowadays...

yes boss, i know wla man nid i maintain but dli man jud malikayan nga maguba ang isa ka part sa system in 2++++ years diba? so dapat ka mu palit og parts, if in case ma timingan jud ka nga mobo ang ma guba (intel ni xa) then daghan na kaayo socket nangawas kay lapas na man 2 years, maglisud jud ka pangita og mobo, and if naa man gale isa na lng ka klase (this just happened to me). wla na kay options for other brands and stuff, limited na lng ka kung nusay available ba...

and yes although others parts is spanking good, the case is other parts will be obsolete and be out of the market. that is what im trying to minimize and not entirely avoid as much as possible im trying to build a system nga parts will still be available. Yes, technology is really fast. But when i found out that sockets in AMD has a longer interval between socket type. I think it will be more sustainable kay daghan pa ka kapilian nga mobo, example ang AM3, nag browse2 ko sa tipid pc (pchub) daghan pa sila available baligya fromg gaming mobo to ordinary ones and considering AM3 was lauched more that 2 years ago, ( 2009 i think not sure) and still parts are still available specially sa mobo daghan pa jud kapilian from asus to msi to biostar hehe unlike sa akoa karon 1155 sa intel isa na lng ka klase ka mobo its a mATX and 2 brands na lng avail sa shop (Asus og Gigabyte) same chipset though but the fact nga kana ra sila imo kapilian constrained kaayo ka kay nid pa jud nimo nga mu palit ka kay guba na imong original board if dli pud ka mu palit kay masayang uban parts nimo nga nindot pa kaayo (this is when maguba imong mobo).

new rig, intel amd? intel, 2010 na processor i7 still runs excellent. 40-80fps on new engine games. just plugged in gtx 750 ti 2 yrs of banging, add 4g memory or 8gb. while on amd apu series no chance electric bill rises, add cooling system for hardcore gaming. except for amd FX. now its your turn, your money your decision.
