I hear its not good to have more than one antivirus running on a computer. I bought AVG for my new Sony VIOS laptop, but all of a sudden I'm seeing this "Winows Defender" (I guess it came with the computer.) I don't know much about computers so I normally just ignore it but I want to make sure it's okay to have them both on my computer.

as it is, you only have 1 antivirus running.
Windows Defender is not an antivirus program rather it is antispyware.
in fact it was called as such before - Windows Anti Spyware.
The antivirus functionality of Windows Defender will only be implemented with Windows 8.

Why use Windows Defender when you can use the most current protection offered by MSE?

Q: Is Microsoft Security Essentials designed to replace Windows Defender?
A: No but if you are running Microsoft Security Essentials, you do not need to run Windows Defender. Microsoft Security Essentials is designed to disable Windows Defender in order to manage the PCs real-time protection, including anti-virus, rootkits, Trojans and spyware.

ive also have experienced in Windows Defender ma lutsan siyag rootkit ug worm compared to Comodo, comodo is paranoid, thats why i love it...

Running more than one anti virus program eats up your resources. If you're running Windows, use MSE instead, it's free.
