Where: Cebu based PHP/MySQL based hosting

Good Sunday to Cebu Webmasters,

Where do you host your PHP/MySQL based sites? Do they allow
"telnetting" to your MySQL database?

hi carlo.. i got my php/mysql sites hosted via fiestahosting.com is "telnetting" youre refering to is a SHELL access account?

I'm not really a Linux expert so I don't know what a SHELL access
account is but if it allows me to create databases remotely, then yup
that's it

I'll check out fiestahosting.com.

I want to moonlight as a simple web developer for non-complex
sites (i.e. event ad). My problem is that I'm not a graphics designer
so I might have a problem there but I'll see.

creating a database remotely? hmmmnn.. that can be done using PHPmyadmin isnt it? and/or thru cpanel?

i agree w/ u guilliam, u can create database, modify structures, etc.

or use openssh for remote access.

i can see where you are tracking.. yes.. same deal here.. why in CEBU? most web host are in the states.. where the data centers are located and has multiple connections to the internet backbone.. just try to imagine hosting here in cebu where request will be going in circles bec pings/request will still be going out to the states and back to cebu.. bottom line it will be slower.

on the point of voozaw.. there is also a a good mysql browser which is open source that you can use and free for doanload.. search for: MySQLQueryBrowser in google.. i've been using it.. its a fine GUI application.. and easy to understand the interface.. that is if you compare it with phpmyadmin.

What web hosting companies stateside do you suggest (para dili nako

thats a really cool package.. P4600++ a year for 4 gigs of host space and 100 gb of bandwidth..
