Brand Equity, Ad Influenced, Status Symbol, and of course Being "In" on the fashion industry. (I did not include technology and comfort because there's a lot of shoe that offer this even better...)
I used to be a Nike addict even when i was younger (my Dad used to be connected with Nike-Mondragon and he gets the latest and top models every 3 months, and we have countless Nikes at home (mostly running apparels and shoes)) But as i've matured (and my Dad transferred his brand loyalty to adidas - again he gets the latest and top shoe models.) my thinking changed from a brand affictionado to a simple and comfort mongrel. Nike's Marketing and Advertisement (not to mention it's endorsers has greatly influenced the lives of thousands (even millions) around the world! Without the swoosh (nike) or the 3 stripes (adidas) they are all the same.
Adidas? All Day I Dream About S** ... =)
