advisable same brand/same freq..but same freq will do.

i am not an expert on memory modules bro...but here is my 2 cents worth: mas maayo gyud kung "identical pair" imong gamiton...here is my case...gamit ko kingston ddr2-800 (4x1gb)sa una, same brand, same capacity,same freq...but kung imo tanawon iya mem details(Everest Ultimate Ed software) lahi ila manufacturing dates,ranks/banks etc. kung normal lang gamit wala gyud ko na encounter ug problem.when i started playing Crysis...mo hang sya usahai after 10min of play or indeterminate gyud basta kai kaging lang sya.when i switch to Mushkin(2x2gb) identical pair...wala na gyud mo kaging...

The same brand or not ... pwede ra unless same clock speed or Hz sa memory module, correct me if im wrong.

ok ra maski dili same ang speeds, as long as ma-handle sa mobo nimo ang memtype ug ang memspeed.

By "Identical Pair" what do you mean? Do you mean run in Dual-Channel? It translates to good performance, pero it wouldn't matter that much as long as you have a decent VCard. Dili pud tanan mobo maka support ug dual-channeling.

ako existing memory ron kay 512mb pc400. pun an ta nko kay napa may slot. na purchase nko ang memory sa nu tech sa sm.
i think generic ra ni. pag scan nko HEXON ang brand. mag add ta kog memory. maytag napay HEXON didto oi.
