    Default The Best LCD Monitor?

nag plan ko palit bag-o LCD monitor. Unsa ang pinakabest nga LCD monitor available diri sa Cebu? I'm considering the color purity/clarity kay para design ang usage. Naa ko LCD nga LG but problematic man ang iya display. Naa man mga banding sa colors kung mo create ug gradient - even ang black-to-white gradient naa jud mga banding ang colors.

For users nga naay mga LCD monitor, try to check:

    http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/#gradient
Naa bay horizonal/vertical lines sa colors? Sa akong LG is naa jus mga lines, meaning dili smooth iyang transition from one color to the other. if CRT inyo monitor, OK ra kaau ni nga mga images, di mo kakita ug lines

Please suggest unsa ang monitor nga angay paliton...

unsa imong video card gigamit ug resolution na imong gi-set? possible na short imong frame buffer (mem sa video card) para muhatag sa imong kinihanglan na color depth based sa imong set na resolution.

personally i'm using a samsung 940bw (19" lcd). without size being an issue, v-e-r-y nice ang iyang display quality compared to mag, aoc, and lg. dili lang ko sure sa mga lcd na dako pa sa 19"...

Built-in raman - intel g31/g33 - Intel GMA 3100. Pwede pa explain sa frame buffer? What man solution ana if mao ang cause? But why man nga if ang CRT (Mag, 3 years old) akong gamiton OK ra man?

Giset nako sa iyang maximum resolution - problem sad kay gagmay ra kaayo ang fonts (normal dpi settings) compared to the actual printouts.

    Quoted from other forum:
It's a monitor artifact that is all too common. Adjusting it for photography by reducing the brightness from the excessive factory default and calibrating it can worsen it or make it visible.

CRTs are analog devices that can smoothly vary the intensity of the electron beam. But an LCD monitor can "twist" the liquid crystals to admit the backlight only in discrete steps. On all but the most expensive monitors intended for graphics professionals, there are only 256 steps per color (some only allow 12. Calibration works by adjusting a look-up table in the video card to alter some of the levels sufficient to produce a standard brightness curve for each color. That can produce (or increase) visible banding in gradients.

A gradient will reveal banding that might not be visible in real-world images. So it may not be a problem, or it might be so limited that you can live with it. If banding is excessive, or visible in images without computer-generated gradients, you may need a high-end monitor that uses 10-bit color rather than 8-bit.

That is called color banding and is usually dependent on the display device namely the montor, If your using it for graphics design and need color accuracy close to 100% then your choice is only limited to the Apple HD cinema display, those panels are samsung made.. forgot if its S-IPS/IPS or *VA panel.
