Im not 100% all highend panels from Apple/Dell are from Samsung only.

That's my current LCD. You won't regret it! going 1 year nako. Medyo bright siya pero be sure to calibrate it properly. And also be sure imo vid card can stand 1400x900 in games para nindot jud quality sa resolution, pero okay ra gihapon scaled if i lower nimo resolution. For the prices now, sulit na kayo. bought mine almost a year ago for about 13,700 when it made its first appearance in shops. Latest 19" wide karun has the glossy body and faster response time 2ms, i think ang contrast ratio is 3000:1. which much better. pero same lang gihapon ang lcd screen prone sa 'hikap' or 'sneeze' unlike the 22" glossy na ila lcd screen like the ones on samsung home theater lcd's.

banding i believe is a flaw sa lcd technology, as far as i can remember there has always been color banding sa ako mga lcd, and currently all high end 30 inch monitor use s-ips panels from lg-philips except for the samsung which uses their own pva panel which imho sucks. i have tested all 30 inch monitors available today and all has color banding to some extent.
