    Default Dual Channel question

    For my laptop
I just bougt an 4gb kingston ram to add to my existing 4gb hynix RAM hoping it would enable dual channel, but unfortunately it did not go to dual channel only single.
but it did detect the 8gb of RAM. they have the same timing and voltage, could this issue why its not on dual channel be because they have different brands?

Should I buy another same kingston 4gb RAM with the same part number so it would have more chance for dual channel?

    2 slots ra ako laptop.
    As with most laptops.

thats a good suggestion, commonly ang desktop mobo I insert nimo og specific na slots para ma dual channel.

Duda nako murag lahi ra ang brand sa RAM mao wala cya ni dual channel.
try nako access ang BIOS or I update bacin naay settings did2.

Unsay laptop nimo boss? Much better if you can get the mobo brand through CPU-Z.

Some mobos don't support dual-channel. Else, it could really mean that your rams aren't compatible running in dual channel.

Pero as I check the CPUz- they seemed to have the exact same timing both hynix and kingston ram.
    Pero single channel ghapon.
Probably most laptops don't support dual channel.
    I have a lenovo ideapad 500 15acz
