Spider-Man 2 To Swing Around In 2019.
As previously reported by THR, Tom Holland will be headlining his own Spider-Man trilogy. Now TheWrap has learned that the second of three movies will likely drop in 2019 or 2020.
Sony recently announced a slate of films including Jumanji, Ghostbusters, Underworld, Resident Evil and the Bad Boys sequels. With Bad Boys 4 as the last movie in the slate and set to be released in the summer of 2019.
An insider pointed out that the untitled Spider-Man sequel will either be dated late 2019 or early 2020, with Sony very likely picking the autumn 2019 date.
As it stands, details about the first Holland-starring Spider-Man film is scarce, so it's pretty hard to predict what'll be happening in its sequel.
How the sequel factors into the Infinity Wars or the general Marvel Cinematic Universe is kept tight under wraps.
Asked about third film in the trilogy, the insider only had 'Phase Four' to say.
Directed by Jon Watts, Marvel and Sony's untitled Spider-Man reboot so far stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker and Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, and is scheduled to open in theaters on July 28, 2017.

'Spider-Man: Homecoming 2' Set for 2019 | Hollywood Reporter

Sony has set Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 for a July 5, 2019 release date. The studio has also moved Will Smith and Martin Lawrence's Bad Boys 4 ahead more than a month to make room. Bad Boys 4 will now open May 24, 2019, moving from its original July 3, 2019 date. (A third Bad Boys film, Bad Boys For Life, is already set for for Jan. 12, 2018.)
Bad Boys 4 is now set to open against Warner Bros.' Minecraft movie, while Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 is opening the same weekend as an untitled Illumination Entertainment franchise film from Universal.
The announcement comes after the first trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming debuted on Jimmy Kimmel Live Thursday evening.
Tom Holland stars as the Marvel hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming, which hits theaters July 7, 2017. Holland, who made his debut as the hero in this summer's Captain America: Civil War, has a six-picture deal to play the webslinger in three solo movies and three other appearances in Marvel Cinematic Universe films (such as an Avengers film).
The July 2019 release date for the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel currently is the furthest date for the MCU, which also has an untitled Avengers 4 is set for May 3, 2019.
