guys and gals, do u have any idea of what's the first thing to do when configuring my new LINKSYS router?
Refer to the router manual bay or sa linksys website...
basta ako lang ma offer nimu is how to access the GUI of your router to start configuring it...
For WinXP OS:
1. click start > run > type "cmd" & enter > type "ipconfig" & right down the "default gateway number" (e.g.: 192.168.1.1) > type "exit" to close command prompt
2. open internet explorer > type the "default gateway number" in the address bar of internet explorer
3. If it will ask for a username & password, leave username blank & type "admin" (all lowercase) for password
NOTE: If it will not work, refer to your manual/linksys website.
4. Now your inside your linksys GUI... next thing to do is refer to your manual/linksys website.
One Tip!: If you're using a PPPoE connection, try to figure out to where you want to configure it... either in your DSL modem? or your router? or in your computer?
Good Luck bro!... Just PM me if you have any concerns. Aju2x!
bro, naa man gud ni daan D-Link router b4 and then nagkaproblema man mao nga ilisan nlng ug LINKSYS na router, saun man nko pag ka hibalo bro kng PPPoE ba ni or what?... NO how jud ko ani!Originally Posted by ForYou
Ok... what isp man bay? Pinaka saun buhaton if you want to know if this is a PPPoE connection is calling your isp tech support & ask if PPPoE connection ba ang ila DSL modem.
NOTE: Ask your isp tech support of these ff. info:
- static ip or dynamic ip bah ang imu account?
- PPPoE or PPPoA ba ang connection type ang default settings sa imu DSL modem?
- If PPPoE gani, naka bridge mode ba ang DSL modem before when setup sa DLINK router that they support previously before na guba? Kay basin we need to reset the modem. If so, ask their support to reset your DSL modem & set the PPPoE settings in the modem.
- If ok na, include your router in your physical network connection & make sure you do a sequence powercycle (turn off modem, router & PC... after 10 seconds, turn on back again with the same cycle)
PM me if unsa bay... Aju2x!
