Default Tv output for psp slim can be done on psp!

Psp Slim TV output is the HeadPhones jack!!

i believe that in the future once psp slim is available to the public it will be VERY possible to use the TV output of the PSP SLIM to the original psp, seeing as the hardware is totally the same it would probably require a firmware update, but only time will tell

heres the news i read at IGN.com

    http://psp.ign.com/articles/816/816852p1.html

Another major new feature is the ability to output the PSP's video to a television set. You'll need to pick up a set of cables (sold separately), which plug in where your headphones would normally go. Holding down the display button for a few seconds changes the output to your TV, and then you're off and running. Video is output at either 480i or 480p, and there are both 4:3 and 16:9 options. One important thing to note here is that games will only work on your display if you're using component cables (RCA will also be available) and running in progressive scan. Videos, pictures and whatever else will work via an interlaced signal, but games will only work in 480p.

this news is great IMO, i wont bother buying a psp slim, i really like this feature and looking forward to a firmware update if ever

pictures of the cable you would use
special thanks to IGN.com for pointing this feature out in their review of the psp slim

UMD movies have a resolution of 720 x 480 similar to a DVD but only outputs 480 pixels by 272 pixels on the first generation PSP screen. Will the new slim PSP be able to output a 720 x 480 resolution from mem stick as well? this would be a very cool feature if it does

ah ok...the usb cable will work only on games to pc/monitor but viewing videos, photos music from UMD and mem stick directly to a TV is not possible with the usb cable.

Another way around that might work but haven't tried it yet: PSP->PC/Tiversity->PS3->TV OR future update on the PS3 so that Remote Play feature will work two ways, at the moment only the PSP is able to read files on the PS3 wirelessly.

I doubt that software update will be enough for the first gen PSP to be able to output video on the audio jack and don't think it even has video capabilities either, if it does it will make the designers of PSP on TV and PSP 2TV comical.
