Default When you buy a used I device check if it's not stolen

Apple has finally released a tool that will allow you 5o check the lock status of a device. As you know, you can't use the device if the find my iphone/iPad is on. This tool checks that precisely.

You can always check it via Settings. Also, if the seller restored the device, it will eventually prompt for the Apple ID so the buyer will know. The tool just tells you if Find my iPhone/iPad is ON or OFF even if you're the real owner of the iDevice.

I think it's just a matter of more awareness to users.

It's useful if you plan to buy a second hand device to determine its status and even before meeting the buyer.

    I agree.

But even then (as a precautionary measure), you have to check the device itself personally when you guys meet.
